communication

The blog is a good way to know each other even though we do not have chance to meet them face to face. we usually formed group to accomplish the class activities, so we only knew how we did during the activity. the blog provided a way to know how the other groups did. It also gave me a way to evaluate how the activity related to the lesson we learned. I could compare how we did with how we were supposed to do, then I would difference among other classmates. I also read about interested thing about others that I would not know if we do not have blog. the blog should be a component of the course we could easily get 20 percent of grade based on when we did on time. the blog is like your diary you can write about anything which you like to.

personal profile system

The DICS personal profile, it has four facrors:Dominance: driving for results, making decisions, challenging self and others ; Influence: motivating people, generating enthusiasm, cultivating relationships ;Steadiness: developing specialist skills, thorough, consistent & persistent
Compliance: concentrating on detail, monitoring quality and assessing risk . I did the test that I found I am S-C type. It is partially correct that the test said about me. I am not the leader type person, but I always cooperate with other in the most of circumstance. I am not confident most opf time. If I want to be more confident, it is not easy for me to change. We all heard that some one said that everyone has potential to adapt to survive in certain environment. It means that we have chance to change ourselves in order to survive but it usually happens under extremely hard condition. For the corporates use the test to select right employees , I do not think that it is right way to do that. people can manipulate their answer if they know that the test is used to determine them.

McDonald's experience

The assignment is about to place special order in McDonald's restaurant, and to analyze the management process. I was a little nervous when I got into the restaurant and saw there was a long line. I was worried about how people would react and think about me.
I first found a person who looked nicer and friendly and was waiting on the line. When I placed my small hamburger with four extra pickles, the person took my order seeming no surprise, like that he was placing normal one, but when I said that I wanted my french fries well done and no salt, he seemed a little shocked and told me the fries were already well done and without salt. I insisted that I wanted more crispy fries and he told kitchen guy to make my special order. I saw the kitchen guy put already ready fries into oil pot for two more minutes and make sure that the order was very very well done.
The process of making my special order was quite effective. It took about five minutes to finish my order, but the problem was that I did not get the right receipt. The cashier gave me the receipt only stating extra pickle not extra four pickles, and did not show well done and no salt for the french fries. I asked for exact receipt I wanted, he said that he did not know how to print the receipt, and asked me to wait a couple minutes , then he called the other guy coming to help him. The guy said that it's weird and nobody have ever asked that before, but he would try to help me. He did not seem annoyed and asked if I were doing kind of business research. I said that I just did for my friend's favor. The five minutes past by, I did not get the right receipt and he still tried. People waiting in the line looked me like I were strange, and they were more impatient than the guy was working on the receipt. He still could not make the exact receipt at the end. He asked around to find if anyone could know how to print the right receipt. Finally the old guy came in and the cashier told him about my situation, he made exact receipt in minute and showing others how to do it. He had more work experience so he knew how to handle this kind of task. It took about 20 minutes to finish my task, it was kind of experience that I never did before. It was fun and excited.
From my experience in restaurant, the services that it provides seemed effective because it always tries to satisfy their customers. It took only couple minutes to finish my food process, its manufacturing process of making special order is efficient. The cashiers are not all good at placing order and using the computer familiarly. They better to train new employees how to use the cash register. It has to provide safe environment for customers to dine in, so it has to consider every detail to make work place safer. For example,when mopping make sure there are wet floor signs in view from every direction near the wet area;second, make sure the electrical outlets are covered so children can not stick something in them.third, make it mandatory tha that the crew wears all nonslick shoes.
The report shows"the customer service procedures of McDonalds’s are centered on focusing on customer at a time. They are more concerned with quality of service then how fast the service is. Employees take one order at a time, prepare the food and deliver it."
